|
|
I am renaming Email Files according to the Date, From, To and Topic-fields (PFrank 2.28 Vista-only).
Date formatting works fine as long as the Date is found in rows 4 or 5, 13 of the email-header. If the Date is found in Row 20, 21 the English date format is kept. As soon as the Date is found in Row 11 only the day of the week is left. It may depend whether the date appears before or after the content/type parameter or some other.
Am I right, to suppose this is a bug? |

Hi,
the line number shouldn't matter.
The program looks for a line wilth the word 'Date' and then expects the date to be of the following format:
DayofWeek, day month year HH:MM:SS
e.g. Fri, 10 Mar 2006 21:52:49 -0800
Would you please email me some sample mail files and I'll check what's happening.
Thanks,
Peter. |

Thank you Peter,
indeed most problems seem to relate not to PFrank but to non-standard date formats in quite a few emails. This show the sample-files, which I sent to you. But most of the failures in date-recognition seem to be avoidable with a little more tolerance in PFranks algorithm . Would be nice to have that in future for email-archiving purposes ...
Thank you for the great tool, regards, gogtl |

Thanks for sending me the sample emails.
This weekend, I'll work on making PFrank more tolerant of the date formats found in email files - the next released version will have these changes. |
