Example:

I have a folder with 526 files all with the extension of .MOD
I need to rename them all to .AVI

I've searched the help file, the website, and this forum. Been looking for an answer for 38 minutes, can't find the answer.

How can I do this?

Just copy the following info into the search/replace list of the custom renaming creator (do not include the single quotes):

Row: 1
Search: '[.]MOD$'
Replace: '.AVI$'

Then press the 'Scan' button. A preview list will pop up. iF you like what you see then press the 'Rename' button.
