|
|
Hallo I have the next problem. I need to include a number from a list to filenames. For example I have a filename 10LDK10BR001.txt, the new name must be 10LDK10BR001-2345678.txt. This number is unique for every file. The list is excel.
Is this possible and how.
P.S. A great programm, it can save a lot of time if this is possible. Thank you ahead. |

Hi,
You can import a list of oldname/newname pairs and use that to rename files. The import menu selector is called 'import rename list from ...' and can be found under the 'File' tab of the main window menu.
The files with the pairs list can be a text file or CSV file (both can be created from excel files).
Would that work for you?

That's exactly what I need, but it don't work, probably I'm doing it wrong. I have made a rename list.txt. I have just typed:
10LCA10BR001.txt/10LCA10BR001-12345678.txt
10LCA10BR002A.txt/10LCA10BR002A-123456781.txt
And when I import it, the detailed information window is empty.
Must a write something else in the list?
Thank you ahead!

The form of the file has to be:
oldname1, newname1
oldname2, newname2
ie. each row has to have the original name followed by a comma followed by a new name.
The built-in help info of PFrank has full details.
