Hi Peter and community,
Got a quick question... I am trying to change some music videos I have from one folder... into a folder for each artist.
Currently I have:
Artist - Song.wmv
I'd like to have:
Artist\Artist - Song.wmv
Is this possible using your you RenAmiNG Kit? I am very technically gifted.. but your scripting language is way over my head. From what I've seen.. your software looks amazing.. just wish I understood it more.. but I am learning. Any idea on how to do the above? Thank you. |

Nevermind.. I got it. Just got lucky playing around.. here is the solution for others in need:
SEARCH PATTERN:
(?EBx)(.*?)[ ]*[-]+[ ]*(.*?)[ ]*[][ ]*(.*) # build path
REPLACE PATTERN:
\1/\2/\1 - \3
Not sure if that's exactly right.. but it seems to work so far. |

Your regular expression will work but it defines what appears to be an extra third group that won't match anything for the case you outlined.
A cleaner solution, in case you would like to try it, is:
Search:
(?BEx)^(.*)[ ]*[-][ ]*(.*)
Replace:
\1/\1 - \2
Hope that is useful.
Peter. |

Thank you Peter for the correction. You've made the most powerful, and thus best, renaming program I've ever seen. I know because I've tried most of them. Thank you for saving me countless hours this weekend and I'm sure.. hours yet to come. |
