I have been successfully using pFrank in interactive mode with the Insert Counter function and "Don't restart counter for next renaming" checked. I'd hoped to run that from the command line but when I do, it seems to ignore the "Don't restart" option. Any suggestions? |

Are you using:
\PFrank.exe -k
after checking the "do not restart counter for next renaming" option in the previously run GUI session (you have to exit the session)?

I'm not sure I fully understand your question. I ran the PFrank GUI interactively without arguments while developing the script, then I tried running it in command line mode with this command:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\PFrank\PFrank.exe" -e -w -L "C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\PFrank\Rename_V1.pfr"
I decided to explicitly reference the pfr file since when the command line is run I don't know which pfr was used in the most recent GUI session (it might have been a pfr developed for a totally different purpose).
I realize that the "last used sequence number" has to be stored somewhere and the pfr file would seem to be a workable choice, but is the pfr file not updated when it is explicitly referenced in command line mode? |

I think I know what is happening. In order for the 'do not restart counter' option to work, The GUI session will store the last used counter value in the config file so that it can continue with the last counter value in the next session. The command line version of the tool does not write anything into the config file so the last used counter value is never updated.
Unfortunately I don't have time these days to do any debugging so this is not going to be fixed. Sorry.
