I'm very new to this program so I apologize if missing something obvious here. I see that this program can access and work with pictures and audio files among other things but there isn't a similiar standard format for video files unfortunately.

What I was curious about is if a program like this could be interfaced with another freeware program like Mediainfo? http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en It would seem it could be done manually with a good bit of work as Mediainfo lets you export all the details of a media file in a multitude of customizable foramts like csv and HTML. The HTML option is even appendable which could be handy if Mediainfo could parse an entire directory into one HTML file which could then be fed to Pfrank somehow.

Mediainfo can gather data from the following formats.
Video: MKV, OGM, AVI, DivX, WMV, QuickTime, Real, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DVD (VOB)...
(Codecs: DivX, XviD, MSMPEG4, ASP, H.264, AVC...)
Audio: OGG, MP3, WAV, RA, AC3, DTS, AAC, M4A, AU, AIFF...
Subtitles: SRT, SSA, ASS, SAMI...

"MediaInfo (GUI or Cmd) is an user interface and a proof of concept for MediaInfo library (Lib or Dll).
MediaInfo can be used in your own program without any difficulties, with a static or dynamic library interface."

In any case, it seems it would be really handy if there was a way these 2 programs could work together via a plugin, batch file, or some more meaningful way. I just wish I had the skills to do something like this as it seems like a worthy cause.

The other suggestion is probably something already implemented that I'm overlooking. I was wondering if there was a way to copy and paste the fields from the list box, including line numbers and which lines are active? Basically an easy way post or share configurations from the list manager. I like that you can load and save configs but would be handier if you could also save and load externally.

My only real gripe with this program is that it didn't find a way into my life sooner. Very Happy

There actually is a way to insert metadata from video files into the filenames.
Go to the options window and select the 'Video Information Insertion' panel. From here you can select the meta data to insert.
You can also customize the columns to display the video info in the preview list (use the 'Column Display' panel of the options window).

Let me know if that works for you. i.e. Is all the meta-data the you expect read from the file. If not, them let me know what is missing/incorrect/etc.

As for the mediainfo program, if it has a command line interface, then absolutely, a plugin can be designed to read the data from it.
There is already a similar plugin that uses the Exiv2 program to provide metadata from image files. I created that plugin because there are no python libraries available for extracting meta data from raw image files.

3)
The fields from the list box are printed in the 'Summary' panel of the main window. That text can be copy/pasted.
If you, for example, send that text to a buddy in an email, they can then do the reverse by copying that text with the mouse, selecting the list box of the PFrank program, and typing Ctrl-F2; the copied text is then inserted at the top of the list!

e.g. you can copy the following search/replace info (including the ==== border if you like) and then click anywhere on the
PFrank window and type Ctrl-F2:
