Wonder if this is too trivial!?
Anyhow, here's my query:
Can PFrank be used to rename folders? |

Yes, renaming folders is a configurable option.
From the main window top menu, select View, Options ...
Under 'General (Name Filters), configure the 'Renaming Types' |

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Followed the instruction. Chose the Folders under the Renaming Type, clicked on a folder to see what changes could be effected, and got this:
==========================================================================
Mar 27 2007 22:50:05 ***Scan Complete
'Custom' Replacement Summary:
Row: 1
Search: 'Sony'
Replace: 'Rony'
Current Folder: 'C:\...\Sony
Total Names to be Changed: 0 (Includes 0 Folders)
Total Names Scanned (after Filtering): 0 (Includes 0 Folders)
The Detailed Info window shows blank. In short, I still can't rename a folder. |

You have to set the current folder above the folders that you want to rename. e.g. In your case, set the current folder to the parent of the 'Sony' folder.
Then press scan and you should see the preview window come up listing any folders with new names. In your case, there will be at least one entry for 'Sony' to be changed to 'Rony'.
Note that if none of the names are found to have new names, then the preview window will show up with no entries. If you want to see the unchanged entries too, then there is a configurable option to do so (in the Options window, choose 'General Display' from the tree on the left-hand side, check the 'Show Unchanged Files" box, and press 'Apply'.
Hope this helps! |

Got it! And this clicks!
Still the wish to rename directly instead of going to the parent directory persists. Specially so after having ticked the rename Folders option. Even a direct multiple selection of folders shouldn't be bad, I guess.
Thanks a lot! |
