Hi
Is there a way to rename a set of files
rename Articimage-1.jpg ... Articimage-110.jpg
to
Image567-.jpg Image-568.jpg
that is,
1. drop entire name
2. make new name using Image- prefix
3. specify a starting sequence number (567)
thanks
Matthew

Hi Matthew,
Yes this can be easily done. Paste the following info into the specified rows/columns of the custom renaming creator (do not include the single quotes':
Row: 1
Search: '.*\.jpg'
Replace: 'Arcticimage.jpg'
Row: 2
Search:
Replace: '*Insert Counter after*Prefix*'
The first row is a regex that replaces everything with Acticimage.jpg.
The second row is a predefined command that inserts a counter.
Before pressing scan, go to the Options window (select Options... from the View pull-down menu of the main window). On the left side of the window, select 'Counter Insertion'. You'll see al the counter insertion options on the right side. Pick a start value of 567 and a separator equal to the dash ('-') character. Configure other options to modify things like the min/max number of digits in the number. Then press 'Apply'.
Now go back to the main window and press 'Scan'.
You should see a preview window pop up with the newname/oldnames displayed.
if you need to reorder things and then apply renumbering, then do the reordering on the preview window and press 'Rescan'.
Once you like what you see, then press Rename and you're done.
