The location of the config files could be determined from an "ini" file. This would allow the user to determine where the files should go and not be dependent on the login id of the person using the PC. The "Config" file and the log file defaults to "c:\Documents and Settings\USERID\Application Data\PFrank".
In many corporate environments, local drives are not backed up and the "USERID\Application Data" settings are not available to any other user. I currently run PFrank from a network drive or a USB stick and have a shortcut in the default folder pointing back to the main folder containing the executable so that the configuration file can be saved in the same place always. This way I maintain a common reusable library. |

Thanks for the suggestion.
If I'm interpreting you correctly, it sounds like an ini or some other type of config file would be required which would reside in the users app data folder and would hold information about where the PFrank Config file should be stored.
A new PFrank option would also be required to configure such a file.
I could try to use the current Config file to store the location of where it should be stored but that sounds like it could be complicated.
I'll put this idea on the todo list. Let me know if I've misinterpreted anything.
In the mean-time, the shortcut in the app data folder is an excellent work-around. Another work-around would be to use the Save/Load feature to save and load the Config file to/from any location. |

The portability feature will be in version 1.95. Instructions on how to use it will be in the built-in-help manual. |
